OLD TOWN – Mallory Brown scored off an assist from Heather Surette with 14 seconds left in the first half to help the Old Town Indians edge the Orono Red Riots 1-0 in a Class B schoolgirl soccer divisional semifinal Tuesday.
Whitney Carey had her 11th shutout with eight saves on 10 shots for 9-1-6 Old Town.
Marie Lint stopped seven of eight shots for No. 5 Orono. The Red Riots finished at 8-5-3.
Bucksport 4, Belfast 2
At Bucksport, Elissa Gordon recorded a pair of goals off direct kicks to help propel No. 2 Bucksport by No. 3 Belfast.
Brittany Damon and Erica Bourgon chipped in with goals for the 13-1-2 Golden Bucks. Jana Richards totaled six saves on eight shots.
For the 11-4-1 Lions, Emily Bascone and Sam Ellis netted goals. Emily Worth made seven saves on 14 shots.
Fort Kent 3, John Bapst 1
At Fort Kent, Jackie Masse racked up two goals and an assist as No. 2 Fort Kent downed No. 3 John Bapst of Bangor.
Becka Soucy added a goal and Gabrielle Cyr assisted both Masse scores. Mindy Morneault stopped 10 of 13 shots for the 9-6-1 Warriors.
For the 11-3-2 Crusaders, Meghan Sekera notched a goal on a pass from Katie Sturgeon. Alex Waring made 12 saves on 21 shots.
Class C
Madawaska 6, Hodgdon 1
At Madawaska, Kristine Cyr led the No. 1 Owls by No. 6 Hodgdon with three goals and an assist.
Kay Gerard added a goal and an assist while Abby Michaud and Ciara Cyr had goals for 13-1-1 Madawaska. Danielle Lavoie contributed an assist while Meghan Marshall stopped four of six shots.
Penquis 5, Schenck 1
At Milo, Lindsay Hamlin scored four goals to help give second-ranked Penquis the win over No. 3 Schenck of East Millinocket.
Erin Beasley scored an unassisted goal and had an assist while Shannon Gerrish and Megan Russell recorded assists for the 9-5-1 Patriots. Ashley Pelletier made seven saves on 13 shots.
Sara Gordon scored unasssisted for 5-9-2 Schenck while Beth Chasse faced 20 shots and stopped 13.
Calais 2, Narraguagus 1 (OT)
At Calais, Lanna Martin scored on a feed from Morgan Drew as the No. 2 Blue Devils tipped the No. 3 Knights with 17.4 seconds left in overtime.
Martin started the play with a throw-in to Drew, who passed it back to Martin for the score. Drew assisted on a game-tying goal in the second half by Crystal Martin. Katie Welch made seven saves on 12 shots for 9-4-1 Calais.
Linny Barbee netted a goal for 10-3-1 Narraguagus of Harrington. Missy Barbee had the assist and Sarah Snider had eight saves on 11 shots.
George Stevens 3, Searsport 1
At Searsport, Anastasia Osage’s second goal proved to be the game-winner as the No. 4 Eagles upset the top-ranked Vikings.
Osage scored on a pass from Alex Hemmerly-Brown at the 19:05 mark of the second half to ensure the victory. Osage’s first goal came on an assist from Bethany Roberts. Roberts also logged an unassisted goal. Sarah Kilch turned back 21 of 27 shots for 10-4-2 George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.
Shanna Murphy netted both goals for 11-4-1 Searsport. Janelle Hamilton and Jessica Larrabee tallied assists and goalie Mo Hall had seven saves on 16 shots.
Class D
Bangor Christian 3, Woodland 0
At Woodland, Becky Fortier scored two goals and had an assist to lead No. 3 Bangor Christian to victory over No. 2 Woodland.
Heather Niles added a goal while Kendil Snow made 10 saves on 12 shots for the 8-7-1 Patriots.
Beth Covey and Ali Seavey combined for eight saves on 10 shots for 8-6-1 Woodland.
Lee 4, Katahdin 0
At Lee, Shelby Pickering netted two goals to lead top-ranked Lee Academy by No. 5 Katahdin for its 16th win without a loss.
Deidra Ham had a goal and an assist while Ashley Gifford added a goal and Jenny Stevens contributed an assist. Katie Harris stopped four of four shots to tally her 10th shutout of the season.
Angie Qualey made 12 saves on 23 shots for 8-6-3 Katahdin.
Van Buren 3, Ashland 0
At Van Buren, Nicole Corbin knocked in three goals as the No. 2 Crusaders rolled.
Amy Vaillancourt and Erica Hews chipped in with an assist apiece for Van Buren, now 12-4. Danielle Gagnon made six saves on eight shots.
Kim Oakes stopped five of 14 shots for the No. 3 Hornets (12-3-1).
Greenville 2, East Grand 0
At Greenville, Cindy Lebel booted both goals to boost No. 1 Greenville over No. 4 East Grand of Danforth.
Crystal Ferris added an assist for the 14-1-0 Lakers. Jessie Craft recorded five saves on seven shots.
For the 2-5-3 Vikings, Paula Osnoe turned away 12 of 23 shots.
Field Hockey
Class B
Hermon 1, Foxcroft 0
At Dover-Foxcroft, Jessie Rowe scored the game-winning goal unassisted for 4-10-1 Hermon with two minutes remaining in the first half.
Natalie Bell faced 14 shots and stopped nine.
Megan Ryder made three saves on four shots for 8-6-1 Foxcroft Academy.
Old Town 2, John Bapst 0
At Old Town, Liz Saucier and Kendall Tracewski stroked goals as No. 2 Old Town preserved its perfect 15-0 mark with the win over No. 7 John Bapst of Bangor.
Kasey Spencer and Sarah Metivier were both credited with assists on Saucier’s score and Tracewski’s goal was unassisted. Emelie Richards stopped all nine shots she faced.
For the 1-14 Crusaders, Julia Sleeper recorded eight saves on 13 shots.
Winslow 5, Camden Hills 0
At Winslow, Mallory Finley stroked a pair of goals to power No. 2 Winslow by No. 7 Camden Hills.
Beth LaFountain, Kristen Roy and Mary Lambert added scores for the 10-5-0 Black Raiders. Cierra Byrne stifled all four shots she faced.
For the 3-12-0 Windjammers, Becky McCrohan garnered 11 saves on 16 shots.
Erskine 1, Rockland 0
At South China, Kelsy Cloutier knocked in a penalty corner as time expired to lift the No. 3 Eagles past the No. 6 Tigers.
Danielle Johnson and Beth Angell assisted on the winner. Mary Tibbetts made eight saves on 11 shots for 10-5 Erskine.
Kelly Saunders stopped 11 of 14 shots for 5-10 Rockland.

Guidelines for coaches
During the busy playoff season for boys and girls soccer and field hockey, the NEWS asks that managers and coaches for the home teams promptly report the games. Games can be reported starting at 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Games can not be reported on Saturday.
Those seeking to report games from the Greater Bangor area may call at 990-8275. Those outside the Bangor area may call toll free at 1-800-310-8600. Game results will also be accepted through the fax machine. Its number is 990-8092.
Coaches and managers are urged to provide details for both teams when reporting games. First names of players on both teams as well as statistics are needed. Those not providing full details for both teams run the risk of the games not being published in the paper.
