The Maine Educational Opportunity Center is holding an interactive workshop outlining the college process. MEOC is a federally funded program that helps qualified adults make the transition toward a college education. The program assists adults in Maine, helping them to go to the college or university of their choice. The services provided by MEOC are GED-SAT preparation, college planning, referrals and advocacy, career counseling, financial aid counseling and college admissions process.
Last year the MEOC successfully placed 475 adults in colleges across the state, and helped 186 adults receive their adult diploma or GED. The starting point for all MEOC participants is MEOC 101: The Essentials of College Planning, which covers admissions, financial aid, career and study skills. Pre-registration is required.
