VAN BUREN – Kris Masemola finished with two goals, including the winning goal 5:30 into overtime, as the No. 1 Van Buren boys soccer team tipped No. 4 Washburn 3-2 Tuesday in a Class D Northeastern division semifinal in high school action.

Tyler Hews assisted on the game-winner and had an unassisted goal for the 13-3 Crusaders while Wes Hogue added an assist. Sean Violette stopped three of six shots.

Jim Bugby scored an unassisted goal for the Beavers, now 9-5-2. Trevor Thibodeau scored on a pass form Jason Thompson. Jesse Maynard made 12 saves on 29 shots.

DI-Stonington 2, Machias 1

At Machias, Josh Bolton had a goal and an assist as the No. 6 Mariners upset the No. 2 Bulldogs.

Bolton assisted on a Brady Ballou score and Bennett Gray made six saves on 15 shots for 8-6-2 Deer Isle-Stonington.

Wil Hasselmann netted an unassisted goal for Machias (13-2-1). Marcus Frutchey stopped three of eight shots.

Islesboro 2, Averill 1

At Islesboro, Jonathan Bolduc redirected a cross by Gavin Harkins to give the No. 3 Eagles the win after a 1-0 deficit at the half.

Bolduc also scored the game-tying goal on a penalty kick while Rory Diffin made 17 saves on 27 shots for 8-2 Islesboro.

Jeff Charties scored unassisted for the No. 6 Beavers of Hinckley (4-9). Gerard Levesque stopped 15 of 23 shots.

Class A

Bangor 2, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle, Matt Oliver converted a feed from Jeff Oertel with 5:24 remaining as the No. 3 Rams knocked off the No. 2 Wildcats.

Alex Chaiken tied the game with 9:05 left in the second half when he knocked in a rebound off a PI defender. Payson Nichols registered 12 saves on 16 shots and stopped a Wildcat penalty shot with 1:26 left in the game for 11-4-1 Bangor.

For the 8-4-4 Wildcats, Nick Casavant headed in a Luke Blackstone free kick in the first half. Shane Clark turned away 12 of 16 shots.

Waterville 2, Hampden 0

At Waterville, Joe Spofford and Dan Huber fired in a goal apiece as top-seeded Waterville blanked No. 4 Hampden.

Marc Labbe assisted Huber’s goal and Stephen Nale made 10 saves on 13 shots as the Panthers improved to 14-1-1.

Ken Mayo stopped eight of 21 shots for the 9-4-3 Broncos.

Class C

Washington Acad. 4, Dexter 3

At East Machias, Matt Gibson scored two goals and had two assists to 11-2-1 Washington Academy to the win over No. 3 Dexter

Whitney Stevens and Jared Gray each scored unassisted while Barrett Craven made stopped six of 11 shots for the No. 2 Raiders.

Matt Capobianco scored all three goals for 7-8-1 Dexter with assists from Mike Martin and Ben Malo. Brian Hersey made nine saves on 17 shots.

Piscataquis 7, Madawaska 1

At Guilford, Dan Rockwell tallied three goals to lead the No. 1 Pirates past the No. 4 Owls.

Jon Prescott and Harper Hoffman each had two goals and an assist for 9-3-3 Piscataquis while Ben Smith and Ryan Bush added assists. Josh Luellen stopped 10 of the 14 shots he faced.

Florian Schmidt scored with an assist from Kevin Dube while Steven Soucy made 10 saves on 25 shots for 7-7-2 Madawaska.

George Stevens 2, Central 1

At Blue Hill, Jed Garvey tallied an unassisted goal 1:42 into the second half as the No. 1 Eagles held off the No. 5 Red Devils.

Toby Grindal scored on an assist from Andrew Hikade to give 11-5 GSA a first-half lead. James Friend made one save on three shots.

Seth Strout tied the game in the first half with an unassisted score for 6-8-2 Central of Corinth. Paul Laking stopped nine of 17 shots.

Class B

Camden Hills 1, Mount View 0

At Northport, Peter Moro corralled a cross from Adam Stearns and sent it into the net with 10:50 left in the first half to lift top-ranked Camden Hills to the victory over No. 4 Mount View of Thorndike.

Will Dennen recorded five saves on 10 shots for the 12-1-3 Windjammers. For the 10-5-1 Mustangs, Alex Mitchell tallied 14 saves on 27 shots.
