Bonner gets Colby by Bates

WATERVILLE – Wendy Bonner knocked in two goals to lead the Colby White Mules to a 3-1 field hockey win over Bates College of Lewiston.

Marcia Ingraham provided a goal for 8-5 Colby. Carrie Torrisi made 12 saves on 24 shots.

Ginny Hurley scored the 2-10 Bobcats’ loan goal. Lindsay Gary rejected 29 of 26 shots.

USM 5, Framingham State 0

At Gorham, Sasha Ilkovich notched two goals as the Huskies improved to 10-6.

Laura Jurkowski had a goal plus an assist for Southern Maine, as did Renee Heath. Becky Manson provided a goal, and Andy Guerette and Jessie Superchi combined to stop two of three shots.

Megan Johnson made nine saves on 22 shots for 3-13 Framingham State.

Men’s Soccer

Colby 7, U-New England 0

At Waterville, Mike Ungreger and Brian Kelly each scored twice as the White Mules rolled over the Nor’Easters.

Carl Tugberk had a goal plus an assist for 5-7 Colby. Shawn Burnell and Matt Danziger added a goal each, and David Manning notched two assists. David Friedman stopped all five shots he faced.

Nate Montminy stopped four of 30 shots for the 0-13 Nor’Easters.
