The Telford Group, whose main base is in Bangor, has bought all of the outstanding ownership shares of Avtel Services Inc., a Mojave, Calif.-based aviation services company with annual sales of more than $30 million.

The acquisition of Avtel Services will significantly enhance The Telford Group’s activities as a U.S. government contractor and complement its commercial maintenance activities, according to company officials. By maintaining operations centers on both the east and west coasts, Telford will be well-positioned for further increases in national and international aviation service activities.
