BREWSTER, Mass. – The Husson College Braves recorded a 310 to place seventh in the first round of the New England Invitational Golf Tournament Monday at the Captains Golf Club.
Husson was sparked by Joe Alvarez, who shot an even-par 72 to tie for fifth with three other golfers behind the University of Rhode Island’s Mike Carbone’s 67.
Rhode Island leads the two-day tourney with a 287 and is followed by Hartford (296), UConn and Brown (299), Central Connecticut State (300), Dartmouth (308), Husson, Harvard (312), Salem State (313), and Middlebury and Providence (315).
A total of 46 colleges are competing in the New England tourney with Bates College of Lewiston tied for 37th with a score o f 346 and Southern Maine tied for 43rd with 351.
