GORHAM – Police continued to investigate a Friday accident on Route 114 that left a Bridgton woman dead and sent two others to the hospital.

Joanne Braica, 60, was killed when the 1995 Ford minivan her husband was driving south was hit head-on by a northbound 1990 Jeep Wrangler.

Braica died at the scene, and Phillip Braica, 68, suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung, said Detective Dana Thompson.

The accident happened as the Jeep Wrangler, driven by 40-year-old Lynda Hinds of Old Orchard Beach, was passing a truck and a school bus in a no-passing zone near Huston Road.

Braica and Hinds both were listed in satisfactory condition Monday night at Maine Medical Center.

The school bus driver, Jeffery Bacon of Gorham, was not injured. No children were on the bus.

Police do not know yet if charges will be filed. Thompson asked anybody with information to call Gorham police.
