Boys

Big School (Classes A-B)

Seth Emerson

The Brewer junior fullback-defensive back Seth Emerson racked up 209 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries in the Witches’ victory over Belfast Oct. 19. He also had six tackles in the 34-28 overtime win.

Small School (Classes C-D)

Kyle Pulkkinen

Pulkkinen, a Piscataquis senior center midfielder, scored two second-half goals to help the Pirates soccer team overcome a halftime deficit and earn a 3-2 win over Washington Academy in an Oct. 20 Class C regional crossover semifinal. With the win, Piscataquis, the defending Eastern Maine champ, gained a spot in the regional final.

Girls

Big School (Classes A-B)

Katie Lindemann

Lindemann, a senior forward on the Hampden girls soccer team, scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Broncos beat Oxford Hills 1-0 in a Class A crossover semifinal Oct. 20 and earned a berth in the Eastern Maine championship game.

Small School (Classes C-D)

Katie Frost

The Calais High senior shot a 9-over-par 72 and claimed the individual girls state championship Oct. 20, one day after playing with the Blue Devils in a 2-1 overtime Class C soccer playoff loss to Penquis of Milo.
