MINNEAPOLIS – James Phillip Hernandez, a 47-year-old social worker from Presque Isle, has been named the Everyday Champion for the state of Maine by Wheaties Energy Crunch. As a result, Hernandez’s name will appear on the Wheaties Energy Crunch box in 2002, and he may be selected as one of five Everyday Champions whose picture will actually appear on the box.
Hernandez’s selection as Maine’s Everyday Champion was based on his athletic accomplishments and his volunteer service to the community, according to Wheaties. The two-time Team USA World Cup member has won numerous medals in the sport of wrestling.
