AUBURN – A former Red Cross administrator pleaded innocent Wednesday to charges he sexually assaulted three co-workers.

Rocco Giberti, 50, of Auburn faces 13 counts of gross sexual assault and one count of criminal threatening. He was released on $50,000 surety bail.

Giberti, the former director of health and safety for the local Red Cross chapter, was fired after three female co-workers filed a complaint with police in May accusing him of sexually abusing them.

According to court documents, the alleged incidents began in 1995 and continued until April 2001.

Giberti’s lawyer, Leonard Sharon, said any sex between Giberti and the women was consensual.

“We don’t know what they specifically said he did,” Sharon said. “But he knew these women. He worked with them. They were his friends.”
