WATERVILLE, Maine – Joe Murray made three touchdowns and Danny Noyes scored two Saturday as Colby beat Bates 42-0 in the opener of the Colby-Bates-Bowdoin Series.
The first Colby score came at 6:23 in the first quarter on Murray’s 1-yard run. Murray scored again on another 1-yard run at 0:06 to give Colby (3-3) a 21-0 lead.
Noyes scored on a 41-yard pass from Robert Lippert at 9:10 in the third to give Colby a 28-0 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Murray scored on a 4-yard run at 14:15 to give Colby a 35-0 lead over Bates (0-6). Noyes made the final score at 11:29 on a 17-yard pass from Lippert.
Wesleyan 41, Bowdoin 31
At Brunswick, Young Douglas led Wesleyan as he scored three touchdowns. Douglas gave the Cardinals a 7-3 lead on a 9-yard run at 6:10 in the first quarter.
He increased the lead to 14-3 for Wesleyan (4-2) on a 5-yard run at 14:56 in the second quarter.
The Polar Bears (1-5) closed the lead to 14-10 when Mike Taylor scored on a 4-yard run at 9:02 in the second quarter.
After Wesleyan pushed the lead to 41-10, Bowdoin scored three times in the fourth quarter to narrow Wesleyan’s lead.
Worcester State 43, MMA 13
At Worcester, Mass., Worcester State’s Cean Oksanish threw three touchdown passes and Greg Wood rushed for two Saturday to lead Worcester State over Maine Maritime Academy.
Oksanish hit Jeremy Frisch with a 48-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring. He was 11-of-23 for 263 yards and two interceptions. He also kicked a 27-yard field goal.
Wood rushed 18 times for 198 yards. He made it 13-0 in the first quarter on a 28-yard touchdown run.
