Next Tuesday the voters of Brewer will be voting on two City Council members, as well as a few bond issues. One major, and certainly one of the most controversial issues affecting Brewer, is a proposed charter amendment. This amendment will allow members of the council the opportunity to unseat one of its own members.
I submit to the voters of Brewer, that is your prerogative, and only you should have that option. So beware; don’t let a few dictate who, or who should not serve your city. The voters’ true faith in its elected officials will be shown by voting no on this issue. The referendum question pertaining to the high school trustees asking the voters to approve the bonding increase of more than $2 million is a fair and reasonable request. I strongly urge your support for this measure.
Larry T. Doughty
Brewer city councilor
