BANGOR – The Penjajawoc Stream will be featured in a program at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Bangor Public Library.

Judy Kellogg Markowsky, director of Maine Audubon’s Fields Pond Nature Center, will give a slide show about her tracing the 4-mile stream through gullies and culverts, along highways and into woods.

She also will show photographs of some of the birds, including endangered birds, found in the Penjajawoc Marsh.

Jeff Varricchione of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection will describe the DEP’s stream program, which involves people throughout the state in monitoring streams in their communities.

There will be time for questions and discussion. Refreshments will be served.

Co-sponsors are the Penobscot Valley Chapter of the Maine Audubon Society and BACORD, Bangor Area Citizens Organized for Responsible Development.
