The Maine Educational Opportunity Center is holding an interactive workshop outlining the college process.

MEOC is a federally funded program that helps qualified adults make the transition toward a college education. The program assists adults in Maine, helping them to go to the college or university they choose. The services provided by MEOC are GED-SAT preparation, college planning, referrals and advocacy, career counseling, financial aid counseling and college admissions process.

The MEOC has successfully placed 475 adults in different colleges across the state, and helped 186 adults receive their adult diploma or general equivalency diploma last year.

The starting point for all MEOC participants is “MEOC 101: Essentials of College Planning,” which includes admissions, financial aid, and career and study skills. Registration is required. For information call Tamara Stafford at (800) 281-3703.
