NEWPORT – The Newport service area of the Salvation Army announced this week that Bud’s Shop ‘n Save in Newport will sponsor the area’s “giving tree” and receptacle for new donations for children for Christmas. The tree will be in place by Monday.

Parents of children in Newport, Plymouth, Dixmont and Etna may call the Salvation Army representative at 368-3302 to make an appointment to apply for gifts for their children. The deadline for applications is Dec. 12.
