An Ebeeme Lake camp owner on Monday reported to the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department that a kayak had been stolen from a garage on his property.

Investigator Jamie Kane of the Sheriff’s Department said someone forced the garage door open to obtain the “Otter” Old Town kayak. A camp on the same property was not entered, he said.

Police also are investigating a break-in at a house on the Sebec Shores Road in Guilford. It is not known what, if anything, was missing from the house because the property owners reside out of state, Kane said. The owners have been notified and plan to arrive soon to take an inventory, he noted.

A door was forced open to gain entry into the house.
