BANGOR – Pupils at James F. Doughty School will remain at school two hours later than usual today.

According to a letter Principal Robert MacDonald sent to parents of the grade six through eight pupils earlier this week, pupils at the middle school will remain at school until 4:30 p.m. to make up the instructional time lost during a bomb scare Friday which resulted in a schoolwide evacuation and early dismissal.

Though Bangor police later determined that the threat was groundless, their investigation resulted in the arrest of an unidentified individual who has been charged with a Class C felony in connection with Friday’s incident and a second count connected to a similar threat at the middle school last school year.

Details of the arrest were not immediately available Wednesday evening.
