Maine vs. Sacred Heart

Outlook: Sacred Heart is coming off a 4-1 win over Fairfield on Tuesday. The Pioneers lost to preseason Hockey East favorite Providence 8-1 on Oct. 19. Providence outshot visiting Sacred Heart 47-23. The Pioneers were fifth in the MAAC a year ago, compiling a 14-12-5 record. The Bears will be a heavy favorite but can’t afford to take them lightly. Every win is important when it comes to NCAA Tournament consideration. The Bears will be coming off an emotional game against Hockey East arch-rival Boston University on Friday night. The game might give Maine interim head coach Tim Whitehead a chance to experiment with different line combinations. Maine is 5-0 against MAAC schools including a 6-3 win over Canisius and a 7-4 triumph over Quinnipiac two years ago.
