BRUNSWICK – Robert Lippert threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead Colby College past Bowdoin College 41-13 in the 113th football game between the teams.

Joe Murray ran for 101 yards and a touchdown and Denny Noyes caught nine passes for 118 yards and a touchdown as Colby (4-4) scored early in the first quarter in building a 31-0 halftime lead.

Bowdoin (1-7) fell behind 41-0 before scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 57-yard pass from quarterback John Clifford to Brian Durant.

The game was the season finale for both teams. Bowdoin has a 62-42-9 lead in the rivalry, which is the third-longest in Division III history.

Hamilton 22, Bates 13

CLINTON, N.Y. – Chris Weeden ran for two scoring runs to lead Hamilton to a 22-13 victory over Bates Saturday.

Weeden put Hamilton (1-7) on the board first when he capped off a seven-play drive with a 3-yard run at 12:27 in the first. He scored again on a 1-yard run with less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Weeden finished the game with 160 yards on 41 carries.

Chris McCarthy gave the Continentals a 13-7 lead over Bates (1-7) with 3 seconds left in the first quarter when he scored on a 65-yard punt return.

After a scoreless second quarter, Bates’ Kane Jankoski threw a 4-yard pass to Paul Tenney, who ran it in for the score, tying the game at 13-13. Jankoski, who completed 17 of 29 pass for 92 yards, also threw a 6-yard scoring pass to Owen Miehe at 3:35 in the first quarter.
