PEMBROKE – The Pembroke Historical Society will sponsor a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

The fair is part of a continuing effort to raise money to maintain the society’s new home and create a museum.

The society says the craft fair reflects the many talents of Down East crafters. Among the selection of crafts to see and buy will be stained-glass creations by Mark and Arlene Wren of Wrenovations of Robbinston; pen-and-ink drawings and watercolors by Fred and Patty Hartman of Down East Drawings of Whiting; paintings by Joan Dodge of Alexander; pottery by Don Sutherland of Eastport; photography by Fred Knapp of Princeton; and folk art dolls made by Theo McDonough of Alexander.

Other tables will feature crafters from Pembroke, Baileyville, Dennysville, Calais, Topsfield and other areas, who will be selling painted wooden items, baskets, hand-knit socks, mittens and hats, crocheted afghans, handmade quilts, fleece garments, fudge, candy, jams and jellies, Christmas ornaments, dolls, toys and more.

The historical society will be selling back issues of its quarterly newsletter, The Pemmaquon Call, as well as souvenir plates, T-shirts and sweat shirts featuring a graphic of the old Pembroke Iron Works.

The group also will offer annual memberships and raffle tickets on a sampler quilt made and donated to the society by members and friends of the St. Croix International Quilters’ Guild. In addition, the historical society from neighboring Charlotte will have a table selling framed pictures depicting long-ago scenes of Charlotte, Pembroke and surrounding communities.

The society members will hold a food sale.
