ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – The Denver Broncos moved former University of Maine star wide receiver Phil McGeoghan up from the practice squad to the active roster Thursday.
McGeoghan (6-foot-2, 221 pounds) was on the Oakland Raiders practice squad in September before being waived Oct. 16. He was originally signed to the Broncos practice squad on Oct. 31. He was in training camp as a rookie free agent with the New York Jets before being waived in August.
McGeoghan, a 2001 Maine grad, caught 161 passes for 2,343 yards for the Black Bears. He also scored nine touchdowns.
To make room for McGeoghan on the roster, the Broncos released Eddie Kennison, who started in six games for Denver, catching 15 passes for 169 yards.
