The Corinth Area Kiwanis Club has elected new officers for the 2001-2002 term: Jeff Bean, president; Don Strout, Jr., president-elect; Denise Trafton, vice-president; Julie Duran, secretary; Diann Gagnon, treasurer. Elected to the board of directors were Tim Chesley, Debbie Dunham, John Goulet, Terri Jane Stymiest and Leroy Webber. The installing officer was Howard Kesseile, lieutenant governor for division 2 of the New England District. The meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at Central High School.

Rachael Weinstein has been awarded the English Majors Scholarship for the current academic year at Ithaca College.

Weinstein is majoring in English with a minor in sociology at the School of Humanities and Sciences. She has been a participant in the Humanities and Sciences Honors Program. Repeatedly on the dean’s list, she previously was inducted into the Oracle honor society. A graduate of Bangor High School and resident of Garland, Weinstein will graduate from Ithaca in 2003.
