CAMDEN – A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody Monday morning shortly after midnight after his parents called police, concerned about their safety.

The boy had been issued a traffic summons earlier, Chief Phil Roberts said, and when he arrived at his Norumbega Drive home, a disturbance erupted. The parents shut themselves into their bedroom and summoned police.

Officers were able to take the boy into custody and then bring him to a hospital, where he was admitted for mental health treatment. No charges have been filed in connection to the incident, Roberts said.
