Three Eastern Maine high school football players are among the nine semifinalists for the James J. Fitzpatrick Trophy, presented annually to the premier senior in Maine.

Chris Cote, a tailback-linebacker from Brewer; Jeffrey Cutler, a two-way lineman from Messalonskee in Oakland; and Cole Parlin, a wide receiver and safety from Mt. Blue in Farmington, are the East semifinalists.

No players from Bangor, the first state big-school champion football team from Eastern Maine since 1981, made the ballot.

The other semifinalists are Evign Dodge of Noble of Berwick, Josh Doughty of Portland, Jeffrey Fasulo of Scarborough, Pat Lever of Mountain Valley in Rumford, Trevor Powers of Cheverus of Portland, Lee St. Hilaire of Winthrop, and Stefan Scarks of Thornton.

Voters will narrow the list of semifinalists down to three finalists, who will be announced on Dec. 23. The winner will be announced at the Fitzpatrick Trophy Award Banquet Jan. 20 in Portland.
