Maine vs. Brown

Time, site: Wednesday, 7 p.m.; Alfond Arena, Orono

Records: Maine 5-4-2, Brown 2-3

Series, last meeting: Maine leads 8-2; Maine 6-2 on 11/24/00

Key players: Maine – RW Niko Dimitrakos (6 goals, 10 assists), RW Colin Shields (10 & 4), C Tommy Reimann (4 & 10), C Martin Kariya (3 & 8), D Peter Metcalf (2 & 8), G Mike Morrison (3-1-1, 1.95 goals-against average, .932 save percentage), G Matt Yeats (2-3-1, 3.61, .846); Brown – RW Adam Saunders (3 & 2), RW Keith Kirley (1 & 4), D Paul Esdale (1 & 4), C Tye Korbl (2 & 2), LW Brent Robinson (1 & 3), C Shane Mudryk (1 & 2), G Yann Danis (has not played)

Outlook: This is a much better Brown team than the one that averaged only 2.17 goals per game a year ago en route to a 4-21-4 season. Sophomore Danis was 2-8-1 with a 3.60 GAA and an.888 save percentage a year ago and will make his first start of the season. The line of Lucas Lawson-Reimann-Dimitrakos has combined for 11 goals and 15 assists in its five games together. Brown is 2-1 on the road, including a win over nationally ranked Harvard. Maine has won the last six meetings. Brown is quick and will play sound defensive hockey. Maine is looking to extend its winning streak to three games.
