Derek Rodgerson

Former Hampden Academy star Derek Rodgerson, a sophomore at Franklin Pierce College of Rindge, N.H., was named Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball player of the week Monday.

Rodgerson led his team to the Clarion University/Subway Classic Tournament title, averaging 21.5 points and 4 rebounds and shooting 65% from the field (75% from three-point range) in two games and earning MVP honors.

Danny Noyes

Colby senior wide receiver Danny Noyes was named to the New England Football Writers Division II/III All-Star team Tuesday.

Noyes was the only player from a Maine college selected for the 28-man team.

Missy Traversi

Maine guard Missy Traversi was selected as Spalding Rookie of the Week Tuesday.

Traversi scored 18 points and had 6 assists and 4 steals against Georgia and 10 points, 5 assists and 3 steals in the Bears’ season-opening win against Kent State.
