WESTBROOK – Sanmina Corp. is laying off 150 of the 330 workers at its Westbrook plant.

The move comes just weeks after the electronics manufacturer, based in San Jose, Calif., bought the former EM Solutions plant. The jobs will be cut by Jan. 15.

A company spokesman blamed a downturn in the economy for the layoffs and said some of the workers could be hired back if the company’s situation improves. Before the current round of layoffs, 200 other jobs had been cut at the plant.
