YORK – Authorities on Sunday were investigating an accident on Mountain Road that claimed the lives of two men Saturday.
Police said a passenger, Martin J. Wojick, 72, of Pittsfield, Mass., was dead at the scene.
Rescue personnel extricated the driver, Kenneth Sullivan, of York Harbor, and took him to York Hospital. Sullivan, 50, died of his injuries.
Police said Sullivan was heading south when he lost control of the vehicle on a downhill curve, crossed the centerline and struck a tree about a mile from the base of Mount Agamenticus.
