BIDDEFORD – Senior Tasha Little and junior Kara Crockett combined to score 19 points in the second half, and the University of Southern Maine Huskies withstood a rally by the University of New England for a 62-54 victory in women’s basketball action Thursday night.

Sophomore Meg Cressler had 14 points in the first half, including four 3-pointers, and finished with a team-high 16 points for the Huskies.

Crockett scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Little added 13 points and eight rebounds. Senior Niki Dominiczak contributed a team-best nine rebounds.

UNE’s Amanda Brown matched her career high with 16 points, knocking down four shots from beyond the arc. Senior Amanda Rodgerson pitched in with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
