Camden woman injured in two-vehicle accident

ROCKPORT – A Camden woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday at the intersection of Union and Limerock streets.

Susan Corcoran, 55, of Camden was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center with unspecified injuries, according to Rockport police Sgt. Paul Pinkham on Saturday. Corcoran, who required surgery, was admitted to the special care unit and was in good condition Sunday, according to a nursing supervisor.

Thomas Kaericher, 35, of Lincolnville was summoned for failing to stop at a stop sign, the sergeant said.

At the time of the 12:53 p.m. accident, Corcoran was driving a 1986 Honda sedan north on Union Street when Kaericher failed to stop while driving his 1999 Ford pickup truck east on Limerock Street. Corcoran had no time to stop, Pinkham said, and she hit the truck.

Kaericher was not injured, Pinkham said, but his truck had about $9,000 damage. Corcoran’s car was demolished. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
