Pilsbury, Braves get past Beavers

FARMINGTON – Robert Pilsbury netted 27 points and had five assists as the Husson College men’s basketball team earned a 76-70 victory over UMaine-Farmington Wednesday in college action.

Ryan Rivera and Randy Fletcher each added 15 points for the Braves of Bangor, and Fletcher grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

Steve Ginn scored 18 points to lead the Beavers. Mike Ward contributed 17 points and Tom Nadeau scored 15.

At Lewiston, Ed Walker threw in 24 points on 11 of 18 shooting as the Bobcats edged the Polar Bears.

Alex Wilson contributed 13 points for the winners. Angelo Salvaggio chipped in 12, and Hector Mancebo added 11.

Greg Orlicz had a game-high 25 points for Bowdoin. Braden Clement knocked in 12, and Chris Ranslow put in 10.

Jeremy Kervin contributed 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Aubrey Belanger had 13 points, eight boards and 10 assists.

Shane Alley led the Mustangs with 18. Ike Hanger had four three-pointers for 12 points.

Damien Strahorn led the White Mules of Waterville with 29 points and nine rebounds. Sean Flood had 11 points.

The Mariners were led by Matt Clement, who put in 25. Corey Streams totaled 19, Pete Pitula added 16, and Jed Johnson tallied 11.

At Farmington, the Beavers placed five players in double-figures as they withstood a second half charge by Husson.

Jocelyn Sawyer led UM-Farmington with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Mt. Blue alumnist Megan Woodcock contributed 16. Rachel Bard, Amanda Pepin and Cheyrl Kempton added 11 each. Kate LaHaye chipped in with nine rebounds.

Kelly Dow led the Braves with 15 points. Liz Boone and Leslie Trott added 14 and 12 each, respectively. Boone had a game-high 13 rebounds.
