As he made his way unsteadily along the city streets early Thursday morning, a 37-year-old Bangor man would occasionally stop at a residence and pound on the door, looking for his friend Julio.

Anthony Brazzo also paid a visit to his own apartment at 183 Hammond St., peering into his window before leaving, reported Bangor Police Officer Brent Beaulieu who repeatedly warned Brazzo to quiet down and go home. At times, it appeared that Brazzo was going to comply, but Beaulieu was called back for a disturbance and found Brazzo was the cause.

Brazzo appeared intoxicated and first explained that he was looking for his friend Julio, although later he said it was Jake.

The last time, about 3:30 in the morning, Brazzo was staggering in the intersection of Union and Clinton streets, Beaulieu said. After sending him on his way, Beaulieu parked one street over and walked back. Even before seeing Brazzo, Beaulieu could hear someone pounding on a door and another man’s voice coming from inside, telling Brazzo to leave.

The resident told Beaulieu that he had been woken up by Brazzo, a man he didn’t know. He told the officer he wanted Brazzo removed.

Beaulieu arrested Brazzo, charging him with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Brazzo was out on bail at the time of this arrest and was charged additionally with violation of condition of release.

Brewer police arrested a 48-year-old man after it was reported he assaulted his live-in girlfriend Friday morning.

The woman told Capt. Danny Green that after she came home from work, she and boyfriend Donald Dwyer argued and that Dwyer struck her on the left side of her head with his hand. She then called police.

Following his investigation, Green arrested Dwyer, charging him with domestic assault.
