BOSTON – The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor has commissioned Einhorn Yaffee Prescott to provide architectural and engineering services for a major expansion in its research facilities including the new east research building.
The Jackson Laboratory is the premier institution in the world for mammalian genetic research and plays a key role in the global scientific community as the provider of critical genetic resources.
The east research building will include approximately 55,000 square feet of new space for research laboratories, offices, conference rooms and support spaces. The research laboratories will incorporate a flexible design scheme to support 16 research groups. Other research expansion of approximately 25,000 square feet of new and renovated space includes a new commons to foster interaction among scientists and expansion of genetic resources facilities.
