Because local hospitals in our readership area do not routinely announce births, the NEWS would like parents to call Assignment Editor Mike Dowd at 990-8238 by Thursday, Dec. 20, so a list can be compiled of prospective new arrivals.
When calling, please indicate the hospital where the birth is scheduled to take place, the parents’ names, address and phone number.
The NEWS annually announces the first birth of the New Year at hospitals in Aroostook, Hancock, Knox, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo and Washington counties.
