UNION – Slippery road conditions are being blamed for a Sunday morning accident that killed William Cassaday, 75, of Appleton.
Cassaday, driving a 1997 Dodge Caravan, was headed to church in Camden on Route 131. His wife, Ruth Cassaday, 67, was a passenger and suffered only minor injuries.
Knox County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Kirk Guerrette said that Cassaday lost control on the snow-covered road, skidded across the oncoming lane and hit a tree.
