The Husson College women’s basketball team rebounded from a thumping at the hands of the Bowdoin College women on Saturday with a 61-56 triumph over Notre Dame College in Manchester, N.H. on Sunday.
Bowdoin upended the Braves 80-40.
At Manchester, N.H., Liz Boone chalked up 23 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocked shots as Husson stopped Notre Dame College.
Leslie Trott contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Braves.
At Brunswick Saturday, all 11 Bowdoin players scored, led by Kristi Royer’s 16 as Bowdoin triumphed.
Trott led Husson with 14 points, and Meghan Hughes added 10.

Women’s hockey

At Orono Saturday, Meagan Aarts and Karen Droog scored seven minutes apart early in the third period, helping lead the University of Maine women’s hockey team to victory over Wayne State ( Mich.).
The Black Bears completed a sweep of their weekend series while improving to 7-7-1. The Warriors dropped to 3-12-2.
Aarts netted her 10th goal of the season on an assist from Droog at the 2:25 mark to break a 1-1 tie, then Droog scored unassisted at 9:12.
Heidi Burns kept Wayne State close with a power-play goal at the 11:52 mark, but Aarts and Droog set up Kelly Nelson on the eventual game-winner with 4:56 to play. Droog also scored a first-period goal for the Bears.
Lara Smart turned away nine third-period shots and made 23 saves while improving to 3-1.
Tinna-Anne Thibideau made 30 shots, including 17 in the first period, for the visitors.
