BANGOR – The Bangor Area Children’s Choir and Youth Chorale will hold a winter concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway.
Music will span four centuries, from Vecchi’s Renaissance madrigal “So Ben Mi Ch’ha Bon Tempo” to Miller and Jackson’s “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
Compositions by Saint-Saen, Bortniansky, Certon, Strang and Mozart also will be performed.
In addition, the choirs will offer an English sea chantey, a traditional African-American spiritual, a Chassidic round, and the choral debut of a composition written by one of BACC’s 11-year-old choristers.
The 18-voice chorale, ranging in age from 12 to 18, is directed by Jean Sigler. The 33-voice choir, ages 6 to 16, is directed by Michele Hall. The accompanist is Alison Moore.
The BACC was founded 10 years ago. Currently, the organization represents 11 communities from the Bangor area, 19 educational environments, and 48 families.
The concert is free. Donations will be accepted.
