Searsport holds off rally by Islesboro for first win

ISLESBORO – The Searsport Vikings held off an Islesboro comeback to post a 55-54 schoolboy basketball victory over the Eagles Thursday night.

The Eagles rallied from a nine-point deficit with 1:30 left and Jon Bolduc’s 3-pointer at the buzzer cut Searsport’s final margin to one point.

Drew Mercier and Josh McFarland each scored 14 points to lead Searsport.

Rory Diffin paced the Eagles with 20 points and 24 rebounds. Bolduc added 12 points.
