Santa’s fund grows beyond $32,000 mark

As of today, the Santa’s Helper Fund stands at $32,067.79. Today’s generous donors include:

Micheline Daniel, Bangor, $25; Jeanne M. Wallace, Bangor, $25 in memory of Red and Tommy; Tammy and John Bryant, Camden, $50 in memory of Robert “Ralston” Bryant and Lloyd “Lou” Bryant; Kenneth Rowell, Bangor, $50; Keith and Marilyn Dunbar, Bucksport, $25; Justin, Jordyn Mikayla, Kristopher and Isaac, St. Francis, $25 in memory of “Papa” Robert Green; Regina Kelly, Seal Harbor, $100; Lee Haney, Veazie, $25 in memory of her mother, Dorothy Haney; Theresa F. de Vries, Holden, $50; and Richard A. Davis Sr., Lamoine, $100.

Also arriving Friday from Muriel Flaherty of Machias was a box of beautifully hand-knit mittens, hats and socks. They surely will bring warmth and comfort to many Maine children.

Recently, Penobscot Chapter No. 374 of AARP donated approximately 51 gifts of toys to the Santa’s Helper Fund, sure to bring smiles to the faces of many children come Christmas morning.
