White sparks Foxcroft win

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Dan White pumped in 22 points and Matt Carey scored 13 to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to a 48-35 schoolboy basketball victory over the Fort Kent Warriors Saturday.

The Ponies led just 28-24 at the end of the third, but White tallied 12 of his points in the final period to help put the game away. E.J. Imbert aided the cause with nine rebounds.

For the Warriors, Nick Thibodeau recorded 12 points and Dustin Nadeau netted 11.

Islesboro sweeps North Haven

At North Haven, Rory Diffin poured in 23 points and ripped down 22 rebounds to lift the Eagles over the Hawks 54-43 on Saturday after the Eagles recorded a 52-41 win on Friday.

Jon Bolduc added 14 points and five steals for Islesboro in Saturday’s game.

Alex Curtis and Ryan Lantagne paced North Haven with 12 points apiece. Stan Brown contributed 10.

On Friday, Diffin tallied 15 points and 14 rebounds to spark Islesboro.

Morgan Kerr chipped in with 11 points, Bolduc logged 10 points, and Pat Knight had nine points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles.

For the Hawks, Brown notched 13 points.

Corey Beaulieu had three goals for Foxcroft Academy while Will Edgerley and Seth Gabarro each scored one and Derek Smith had two assists. Josh Sands, Hunter Wilbur, Brandon Johnson and Mike Freese all recorded assists while Dan Perkins faced 44 shots and stopped 29 for 0-1 Foxcroft.

At Dayton Arena in Brunswick Friday night, Will Prescott had a hat trick and A.J. Hayes scored twice as Brewer won for the first time after two losses.

Jamison Cocklin had a goal and an assist for Brewer. Robbie Hayes, Andy Pooler and Josh Caldwell had assists and Justin Boober and Rob Elliott combined for 23 saves.

Brian Gill scored both goals for 2-2 Brunswick and Ryan Mateyko made 37 saves.
