O Christmas sweets

For the sweet tooth who has everything, Godiva’s Yuletide Temptations Basket makes an extravagantly tasteful Christmas gift. The golden wire basket includes a stocking stuffed with chocolate bars, a chocolate Santa, truffles, biscuits, coffee and more. It costs $100 and is available at www.godiva.com or by calling (800) 9-GODIVA.

On the road again

Volunteers for Washington Hancock Community Agency’s Transportation Services work up quite an appetite driving seniors to and from their doctors’ offices and other medical appointments. “Recipes from the Road,” a cookbook compiled by volunteers and staff, includes soups, sandwiches, entrees and desserts that hit the spot after a long day in the car. Plus, all proceeds will pay for mileage so the agency can continue this free service for area seniors. The cookbook features a variety of dishes, such as Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches, Seafood Fettucina, Crab Rangoon, and Sugar Blueberry Cake, to name a few. “Recipes from the Road” costs $8, and is available by calling WHCA Transportation Services at 664-2424 or (877) 374-8396. Note: WHCA shares a phone line with Penquis CAP, so if you call the toll-free number, ask for WHCA Transportation Services.

Reddi or not

If you can’t get enough chocolate, Reddi Whip has you (and your desserts) covered. Reddi Whip’s new chocolate whipped cream dresses up ice cream, cake, coffee and hot cocoa. Or, if you’re like most people, you can just squirt it out of the can into your mouth when no one’s looking. It costs about $2.50 and is now available at supermarkets.
