WESTMANLAND – A fire on Saturday destroyed a storage building owned by Irving Woodlands.

The origin of the 9:18 a.m. fire at Blackstone Siding in Westmanland was “very suspicious,” Capt. Steve Sperry of the Caribou Fire Department said Saturday. The state Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate its cause.

A grader and excavator that were stored inside the approximately 75-foot-by-50-foot building was saved, according to Sperry.

Assisting the Caribou Fire Department were firefighters from Presque Isle, Loring and Stockholm.
