DEDHAM – Three drivers suffered minor injuries in an accident Saturday afternoon on Route 1A, according to police.
Bela Johnson, 48, of Holden was driving a 1994 Volvo west on Route 1A at 1:30 p.m. Saturday when she slowed to turn left into a driveway, according to Deputy Corey Bagley of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
Dorothy Carey, 61, of Blue Hill was driving a 1995 Volvo behind Johnson and could not stop in time, Bagley said. Carey’s vehicle rear-ended Johnson’s car and was in turn rear-ended by a 1991 Volkswagen driven by Meneah Haworth, 20, of Weeks Mills, he said.
Johnson’s vehicle had an estimated $1,500 in damage, Carey’s car $3,500 in damage and the Volkswagen $3,000 in damage, Bagley said.
