I have to agree with Maggie Gallagher in her column of Dec. 19 (“A tale of two traitors”), but I have to carry my thoughts a bit further. I don’t feel the U.S. military should have taken John Walker from Afghanistan; he should have been executed on the spot and his remains never to be allowed back into the United States.

He is a traitor, not a misguided youth who had no idea what he was doing. He traveled a long road to get to where he was. And any other so-called Americans caught in the same situation should be treated as traitors. This Sept. 11 fiasco has cost the real American patriots and taxpayers too much already and it has only just begun.
