RICHMOND – Town officials have found a second tenant to lease space in the former Etonic shoe factory, which is now known as the Richmond Business and Manufacturing Center.
Maine Scientific, an electronics maker now based in Brunswick, has agreed to a five-year lease in the town-owned facility. The company makes components such as thinly wound coils used in hearing aids.
David Tilton, a Richmond economic development official, said he expects Maine Scientific to bring 10 to 12 jobs to the Kennebec River town.
Officials said they also expect a third tenant for the business center, Custom Woodworking, which makes cabinets and other wood items, to sign a contract by Jan. 3. A company called Maine Composites already is leasing space in the center.
