Muzzy powers Laker win

GREENVILLE – Tyler Muzzy tossed in 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power the Greenville Lakers to a 53-41 schoolboy basketball victory over Buckfield on Thursday.

Bobby Gilbert chipped in with 10 points for Greenville.

Eddie Brackett scored 13 points to lead the Bucks.

At Millinocket, Derek DiFerderico and Devin Johnson each netted 15 points as the Minutemen held the Patriots of Milo to one field goal in the fourth quarter en route to the comeback.

Kevin McLaughlin scored six of his 12 in the fourth, and was five of six from the foul line for the winners.

Dustin Perkins led the Patriots with 11. Justin and Jordan Allen added 10 each.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Jesse White’s jump shot and two Nick Heitmann free throws opened the overtime and gave the Riots the lead for good.

Heitmann finished with 11 points, Derek Sinclair had 10, Justin Perron contributed nine points and White finished with eight.

Danny White had a game-high 24 points, including the basket that forced the OT, and Matt Carey, Pat Lizotte and Josh Withee combined for 25 points.

Old Town 2, Foxcroft 1

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Ray Vachon chased down a clearing pass by Adam Langlais and scored a shorthanded goal with 17 seconds remaining, lifting the Indians to victory over the Ponies.

Josh Fournier had tied the game for 1-3 Old Town, scoring seven minutes into the third period off assists by Nick Buck and Josh Buzzell. J.P. Stowe racked up 27 saves on 28 shots for the Indians.

Corey Beaulieu scored a shorthanded breakaway goal 20 seconds into the second period for 1-2 Foxcroft Academy. Dan Perkins made 22 saves on 24 shots.
