WALDOBORO – The Waldoboro Day committee is mailing its annual appeal to area businesses to support the free community festival, which will take place Saturday, June 22.

The celebration in Waldoboro’s historic village again will feature food, crafts, games, live music by and for all ages, sailing, paddling and motoring on the Medomak River, a 5-k foot race, games for children, a flea market, a morning parade and an evening fireworks display.

Several downtown streets will be closed to motor vehicles, but not to horse-drawn carriage rides.

Waldoboro Day is organized by the all-volunteer Waldoboro Day committee; new members or visitors are always welcome. Starting in February, the committee meets at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at The Friendship Street School.

Those who want to contribute funds to the event may send donations to Jane Dagley, treasurer, Waldoboro Day, in care of Union Trust, Waldoboro 04572.
