HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – The University of Maine-Fort Kent men’s basketball team won both games of a doubleheader Sunday at the Atlantic Coast Tournament, downing St. Thomas University of Fredericton, New Brunswick 78-73 and UM-Machias 93-70 in college action.
In the first game, Andrew Clavette netted 20 points and Chad Gervais and Morris Young scored 15 apiece to help the Bengals top St. Thomas. Barry Bryan contributed 10 points.
Andrew Robson led St. Thomas with 22 points and Joel Little tallied 15.
In the second game, Bryan posted 19 points and Young drained 16 to lift UM-Fort Kent over the Clippers. Stafford Bente came on with 15 and Matthew Alarcon had 14.
For UM-Machias, Gary Dussard logged 13 points.

Brian Cagle poured in 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Brian Austin notched 17 to lead the Corsairs. Tim Gaspar added 16 points and 10 assists, Ivan Britto had 15 and Chris Lapriore chipped in with 10.
Jason St. Pierre paced the Huskies with 19 points. Ryan Garland scored 11, while Linc Bigelow, Ryan Thomas and Jeff White tallied 10 each.
