MPA, stay away

After redesigning the hunting and fishing licenses, did the wizards at the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife help the Maine Principals’ Association redesign the format for the Heal point system?

Please don’t let them touch the wheel.

MPA looking like DIFW

How can the Maine Principals’ Association mess up so bad? We had a system for the basketball standings and tournament that worked well for everyone for more than 30 years. Teams played 16 to 18 games to find out where they stood to go to the tournament.

Everyone loved it and loved the tournament. But, the MPA had to try and fix something that was not broken. Teams that haven’t won in 18 games have to play. Just humiliating!

Wake up MPA!

Schools are having enough trouble financing programs now without more travel and possible overnight stays. All the MPA has done is cause confusion and expense. It sounds like a state department like the [Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife]. Just imagine if DIF&W took over the sports programs in schools. Ha!

Athletes would probably have to buy a license to participate in sports for the year and each sport they participated in they would have to buy an additional stamp to put on the license. And if you happen to be 6-foot-5 or more, you’d have to buy a special duck stamp.

There would be no more referees calling the game, it would be a game warden in a green-and-white-striped suit with L.L. Bean boots sitting on a four-wheeler racing back and forth on the court.

No more foul shots. You’d have to pay a fine for foul shots, traveling, in the bucket and carrying. For a flagrant foul, you’d have to watch a film on “Why There’s No Deer” by Lee Perry. The warden would collect the money and the money would be spent on a study or survey to tell us how many athletes we have per acre.

And out-of-state schools would be more than welcome to participate, probably with first preference. And after awhile with DIF&W handling it, everyone would lose interest like we have in hunting and fishing. Especially the young people.

Back to the MPA.

MPA, admit you were wrong, go back to where we were before you started fixing what wasn’t broken and straighten out the standings back to just East and West.
