Stults, Rodgerson lead UNE to win over Tufts

BIDDEFORD – Sophomore Missy Stults and senior Amanda Rodgerson combined to score 36 points and the University of New England never trailed in a 63-46 victory over Tufts University.

Stults scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Rodgerson added 17 points.

Erin Harrington led the Jumbo scoring with 11 points.

Men’s Hockey

BC 4, Massachusetts 3 (OT)

At Amherst, Mass., Jeff Giuliano scored his second goal of the game 3:52 into overtime to give Boston College the win over Massachusetts.

Boston College (12-6-2, 5-4-1 Hockey East) took a 3-0 first-period lead on goals by Dave Spina, Giuliano and Tony Voce. Spina, who also had two assists, scored a minute into the game, and Giuliano made it 2-0 24 seconds later.

But Massachusetts (7-13, 2-8) started a comeback when Tim Turner scored at 7:33 of the second period. Craig MacDonald and Turner scored within the first five minutes of the third period to tie it. Greg Mauldin assisted on all three UMass goals.

Giuliano had an assist to go with his two goals and Ryan Shannon had two assists.

UMass goalie Tim Warner made 35 saves.
